How are the vinyl artwork pieces created?
A piece of Vinyl Artwork, once designed, is formed by layering individual sheets of vinyl, varying in colour and tone, onto white laquered boards.
This is a meticulous and time-consuming task, not only in the laying of the vinyl, but also as each piece of vinyl has to be 'weeded' beforehand. 'Weeding' the vinyl is the process of unpeeling hundreds of tiny cut areas of vinyl, by hand. The areas of vinyl that form part of the picture are then fixed in exactly the right place on the laquered board.
Once one colour layer has been weeded and affixed, the next colour layer is weeded, and then piece by piece laid on top. This process is repeated for every colour in the image. As the layers are weeded and added, the picture builds and reveals itself.
The finished products are contemporary, sharp, and striking pieces. Also, due to this process, every Pandora artwork is highly textured, completely unique, and an original.
